An immersive art experience ~ collect, create, and find your own way of seeing
Live & In-Person | 7-Day Retreat | May 14-21, 2027 | Le Marche, Italy
Join me for a week of art, wonder, and la dolce vita in stunning Le Marche, Italy. We'll gather at the gorgeous, Michelin-rated, Boutique Hotel Leone, perched on the edge of a picture-postcard medieval hilltop village in Montelparo - a little gem full of breathtaking beauty, fascinating history, and endless inspiration. Whether you're a seasoned painter or have never picked up a brush, you're welcome here. Come… let's make wonderful art and memories together!

This isn't only a painting retreat. It's a week of slowing down and noticing a place deeply enough to carry it home with you. Together we'll gather the colors, textures, stories, and small moments of Italy — and transform them into a personal, handmade record of the experience. No experience needed, and perfection is never the point. The goal isn't to paint Italy perfectly; it's to create meaningful visual memories inspired by it.
More Than Painting - A Way of Seeing
“Working with Jennifer brings out the creativity you never knew you had! Her high energy and positive attitude make you feel good during, and after you leave her classes.”
— Debbie Sullivan, Marketing Director
What the Week Holds
Your days will be a beautiful blend of art-making, inspiring excursions, incredible food and wine, and plenty of time to relax and explore:
-
Creating in the studio and painting on location
-
Wandering and sketching a medieval hilltop village
-
A "Taste of Le Marche" day with family-run food and wine producers
-
A visit to a wool farm in the Sibillini Mountains
-
Long meals, local wine, and slow, golden evenings
-
Connection with fellow artists and enthusiasts from around the world

You'll come away with a personalized travel journal composed your way; a collection of sketches and mixed-media pages; a small wax touchstone; new creative tools and confidence in your own visual voice and - my personal favorite - a richer way of noticing beauty and wonder long after you're home.
"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for."
-Georgia O'keeffe

A Bit About Jen
Jen is a Southern California artist and educator who believes creativity is less about talent and more about paying attention. For over 10 years she's helped people of all levels - seasoned painters and total beginners alike - slow down, loosen up, and discover their own way of seeing. Her teaching is warm, playful, fun and permission-packed.
Jen loves painting people and places, and animals, and delights when someone realizes they can communicate through color and marks, what they struggle to say with words.
